Level: Zero to intermediate experience with environmental robotics

Gain practical and theoretical insights into the use of cutting-edge scientific robotics, across aerial, air-sea and marine platforms, for monitoring rapidly changing environments. Designed for a wide range of stakeholders, this course is ideal whether you're just starting out, looking to improve current operations, or aiming to reduce operational costs without compromising data quality or reliability.

Across the 3 days, you will work closely with SAMS industry experts, learning about the different types of platforms and sensor technology on the market, their capabilities in the field with first-hand case studies, legislation and cost considerations when purchasing and operating the vehicles, early-stage testing and mission preparation, sensor integration, data pre- and post-processing, and horizon scanning. There will also be multiple networking and question and answer opportunities throughout the duration of the course.

What you’ll gain:

· Advance your environmental monitoring skills using a range of the key autonomous platforms
· Practical and theoretical insights into the use of cutting-edge scientific robotics for environmental monitoring across aerial, air-sea and marine robotics platforms
· Interactive workshops and field sessions (weather permitting)
· Best practices for safe, reliable, and repeatable survey execution
· Projects guided by internationally recognised SAMS experts
· Course accredited by IMarEST – the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and technology

Limited places ensure a deep, high-impact learning experience.
