Biographical summary
Kwang-Sik Choi is a professor of the Department of Marine Life Science, Jeju National University (JNU) in South Korea. As a shellfish biologist, Kwang-Sik has been working on various topics in molluscan biology, including the effects of environmental impacts and parasitic infections on the reproductive physiology and immune function of oysters, clams, and abalones. Kwang-Sik received his MS and Ph.D. from Dept. Oceanography, Texas A&M University (1987 and 1993), joined JNU in 1995. He is a fellow of the Korean Academy of Marine Science and an associate editor of the Ocean Science Journal and the Frontiers in Marine Science. He is also an active member of the National Shellfish Association (USA) and the Korean Society of Oceanography.
